Book binding service

Finally started reading 梁文道's讀者. Read about sth called 書皮學 which I think is something that we have to learn in this age of info boom.

In the days before printing technology was commonly available, European readers went to the bookshop, found the book (without any cover) they wanted, and the shopkeeper could custom make the book cover for them. You can choose the binding method, book cover material, words to be printed on the cover etc. Every book, at that time, was therefore unique.

Can we revive this practice? That will make our shop really unique. But then I still think we have a problem - as readers we are not diligent or sophisticated enough!

Day 1

The "tomorrow" I mentioned yesterday would end in less than one hour.

Note 1:
I told a friend about our Dream Brewer idea and he suggested that we shouldn't limit the donation to money, coz Hong Kong ppl wouldn't give out money to good ideas that easily. So apart from money, the donation can be in other forms e.g. a namecard, equipment, actual help etc. as long as it helps realizing the dream!

Note 2:
In Beijing, there's a souvenir shop which sells handmade notebooks. You can give them a digital photo, and they can make a notebook with your photo as the cover and help you mail it to your preferred destination. Great gift.

Day 0

so me and lokbi want to have a little shop in sheung wan

it doesn't have to be glamourous

we want to sell books and CD that we like

and love to have movie nights that we can share.

to share that's important.

and that's why we also think of having two little boxes,

one is for people to put in their dreams

and the other is for $$$

we hope we can realise our goal in five years that's 1.825 days.
